You know, it is an awesome thing to listen to the beautiful sounds of encouragement and edification coming from the fingertips of teens. I really appreciate the fact that you have not forgotten your missing YG members. (except Kristi W! :( We do miss you since basketball has stolen you away from us!)
Would you now turn your words of appreciation toward God? Study out Isaiah 40 snd write some words of praise to God based on these words. We are at Ithaca today for a conference on "Christ in Isaiah". One of the speakers spoke last night on Isaiah 40 -- it was awesome worship to hear how this man was dealing with some rough road because he was "beholding his God". Try you hand at this yourself.
You may begin your post with "Our God is an awesome God because..." or any other way that makes sense to you. I hope to post on this soon too.

Our God is an awesome God because...I can make Him mine, because he is always there waiting for me to come back when i screw things up. We can "come home running just as we are" we dont need to clean up any. He just wnats us back home. In Isaiah 40 i like verse 18 it says in the NIV: "To who, then, will ye compare God? What image will you compare Him to?" it reminds me that nothing on earth can compare...everything that we see here is nothing in comparison to God; the powerful rivers, He can stop them up, the mighty waves that roll ships, He calmed them, the soul that is consumed in turmoil, only He can save it. So Our God is an awesome God because...He's got it all covered.

My God is an awesome God because He loves me. He never gives up on me. He never walks away, even if I do, He doesnt. My God is awesome cause He sends others into my life to point me back to Him. He is awesome cause he can and will forgive anything and everything I do and fill me with new joy and peace. My God is awesome cause He is still there....even though I do so many things I shouldnt and even when I lose sight of Him, He is unwavering. I don't deserve that. Yet He still gives it. He makes "the crooked places straight and the rough places smooth". He transforms my life. I love verses 28-31 of Isaiah 40. Those are my favorite verses and they can apply to just about any situation. My God is truly awesome....beyond awesome. My God is awesome because He didnt let me go. He brought me back even though I walked away, even though I messed up, and He loves me. I serve an awesome God. I could never thank Him or praise Him enough. I guess what I am trying to say is that even though I do things wrong God doesnt count it against me. He doesnt go put a little mark on my record to remind me of the wrong I have done He just completely erases it. He forgives me and loves me. WOW! I serve an awesome God!
My God is an "Awesome God" (a category in which He is the only candidate) because my way is not hidden from Him. When I think that He does not see, I need to remember that He does not slumber or sleep. He is always on duty and working His plan/will.

This chapter is really humbling. I have this image of myself, and another image of God, and I was completely off the mark on my analysis. To be compared to a grasshopper is like 'yikes! I need to get off of my high horse!'.
The very basic characteristics of God in this chapter, puts the fear of the Lord into my bones... And then there's verse 11: "He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young..." Wait a minute! The same God who weighs the ISLANDS as if they were DUST, also carries ME and leads ME?
How great is my God? Words can't describe Him. He's a God that is so great we cannot fathem Him, and yet so simple that I know he cares about every detail of me.
